There are many ways through which the Lord God speaks to us, and therefore, there are many ways that we are supposed to hear from God.

One of the ways God speaks to us is through the prompts


So it is necessary to call on the Lord always and also to remain STILL in anticipation of the prompts from God.

"And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Romans 8.15

The Holy Spirit does most of the talking receiving from our Lord Jesus Christ what He has also received from the Father.

Overall, for our OWN GOOD we must be QUICKENED to be able to have the ZEAL to STAY TUNED and TO OBEY the PROMPTS of the Holy Spirit. 

We have to remain QUICKENED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
"But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:11

Quickened means,

i. Make or become faster or quicker.

ii. Spring to life

So shall we not go back from thee: Quicken thou us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O Jehovah God of hosts; Cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. Psalms 80:18-19
