Everyone Who Calls On The Name of the Lord Shall Be Saved

Portions From Chapter 2
Blind Bartimeus
Blind Bartimeus
healed by Jesus
He is known as Blind Bartimeus but I prefer to call him Wise man
Bartimeus because of the great decision he made to cry out to Jesus Christ.
I believe he had always hoped to see again,
and never lost hope even at the gates of Jericho where he begged for alms with
his friend who was also blind, Matthew 20:30. This man and his friend were
blind but they listened and sought knowledge through which they heard of Jesus
and got the deep insight that Jesus is able to make the blind see again.
Many have that revelation today that Jesus
Christ is the healer but would they take the next step to call out to Jesus?
After Bartimeus had put together all the facts
he had collected he took a stand to do all it takes to be healed.
He planned with his partner in faith and they
decided that blindness was not going to be a barrier as long as they had a
voice.
Soon as they figured out that Jesus was
passing by their location, they began to scream at the top of their voice.
Bartimeus knew that without vision it is
difficult to live what God has purposed for him so he did not choose to sit
in defeat but ask for salvation for his eye sight so he could be what God
has written for his life.

Did the two blind men stop? No they continued
shouting calling unto the name of Jesus. They were motivated because they were
armed with a deep revelation that Jesus is the Son of David. This is one of the factors that drew Jesus’
attention.
Jesus heard their cries and calls and because
of the promise that whoever calls upon His name shall be saved, He answered
them.
He asked them what they desired and they
replied they wanted their eyes to be opened so they can see. Jesus walked to
them and touched their eyes and they had sight.
This paints a great picture about calling on
the Lord and getting an answer and a solution.
Blind Bartimeus had not seen Jesus with his
eyes, just like all today who did not live during the days of Jesus.
The blind man suffered an affliction just like
many today face all kind of afflictions and challenges.
The blind man had knowledge of the saving
power of our Lord Jesus. Though he had never seen Jesus, yet he believed what
he heard about Jesus.
So this wise but blind man decided he will no
longer continue to suffer, he was tired of seeking help from others.
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
while on others Thou art calling,
do not pass me by.
He did what baffled many at that time; he
persisted and paid no attention to the distractions. Note that the crowd tried
to stop them from receiving the miracle he and his friend had purposed to receive
from Jesus Christ.
If two blind men could do this, what about you
and I with sight? Would you say because you cannot see Jesus? These men
believed the report they heard and they moved into action.
After Blind Bartimeus’ encounter with the Lord
Jesus as a result of his call to Jesus he was fully restored and convinced to
follow Him.
The Apostles of old and few today had this
kind of experience, an encounter, a meeting with the Lord and they made the
decision to steadily follow the Lord, saying with all confidence:
“I need no other argument; I need no other
plea,
It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died
for me.”
Bartimeus knew that without vision it is
difficult to live what God has purposed for him so he did not choose to sit in
defeat but ask for salvation for his eye sight so he could be what God has
written for his life.
It is my prayer that as you read this book you
will without any argument or doubt call on the Lord Jesus Christ, He is ever so
near to answer your call and to save.
